Resharing My Old Persona 5 Essay
Before I was posting how I feel about video games to Instagram and Blogger, I wrote this essay about how Persona 5 changed my life! I truly believe it was fate that the game did.
It's a bit of a long story, but for anyone interested, you can read it here: https://medium.com/@yooi/persona-5-life-will-change-but-video-games-are-forever-8695e3137472
Yeah, I know it's lazy for me to tell you to go to another blog when I could've just reposted it here. And that was something I had on my to-do list for a long time. However, I'm not really satisfied with my writing from back then. I was rushing to publish my essay at the same time that Persona 5 Royal was first releasing in Japan, so my writing probably needed "more time in the oven". If I were to repost it, I'd likely rework a bit of the wording.
At the same time, I don't really feel a strong urge to rework and repost it because my passion for the game has waned in the years since. Don't get me wrong, I'll always hold a deep reverence for Persona 5 since it was the first video game I had properly played after years of not playing games (and for me, it was the best experience I could have chosen to reinvigorate my hobby of gaming). But after finally getting my hands on Persona 5 Royal and the other spin-off Persona 5 Strikers...I ended up not finishing either game!
I just got burnt out for various reasons. That being said, finishing both games is still on my bucket list for sure! And hey, if I ever feel more fired up about Persona 5 again, I might properly rework what I wrote too.
Briefly looking back at my essay, it's a bit sad for me to see how my life now compares to back then. "Life will change" as the iconic Persona 5 song states, but some things still haven't changed or have even gotten worse compared to the past. 🤯 It would probably do me well to look within, and seek that strength which Persona 5 had once given me to see my future through.
On that note, I leave a quote from my essay here...if you're planning to read it or are just here on Blogger reading these words, thanks a bunch! I appreciate you.

"...for those who lost their passion for video games aeons ago, I hope they too can discover their own “Persona 5” (provided they’re open to that happening).
Because Persona is forever.
Or rather, video games are forever (Persona included). And they’ll never stop being there for you even if you’re not there for them."
